Former Vatican Ambassador Khalil Karam confirmed that the Pope’s visit to Lebanon is still scheduled.
Speaking on MTV’s “Beirut Lyom,” Karam said that Rome informed them earlier today that cancelling the visit is not being considered despite the recent security developments. He added that the Pope is well aware that the region’s only path forward is peace and that he intends to raise the issue of neutrality during his visit.
