Crowds from Abroad Flock to Lebanon Ahead of Pope’s Visit
Secretary-General of the Union of Tourism Syndicates Jean Beiruti confirmed that tourism activity is positive, and hotel bookings in Beirut have exceeded 70 percent.

He told MTV that "we are more than ready for the Pope’s visit, and a large number of people have come from neighboring countries."

He expressed regret over the threats Lebanon is facing, noting that the atmosphere could have been better during the holidays, and added: "I wish we could return to the times of safety and security."
