The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
‘On the night of 3–4 December 2025, a group of citizens attacked a UNIFIL patrol on the road of Tiri in Bint Jbeil, causing damage to one of its vehicles. No injuries were reported among its personnel. The Army immediately launched follow-up measures to pursue the perpetrators, and as a result, the Intelligence Directorate arrested six individuals involved in the attack.
The Command stresses the seriousness of any assault on UNIFIL and affirms that it will not tolerate such violations. It also highlights the essential role played by UNIFIL in the area south of the Litani River, its close coordination with the Army, and its active contribution to maintaining stability. The detainees are now being questioned under the supervision of the competent judiciary.’
