Lebanon’s Meteorological Department said the country will experience partly cloudy and unstable weather over the coming days, with temperatures remaining near seasonal averages before dropping midweek.
Monday: Weather will be partly cloudy, with cloud cover increasing from the afternoon as humidity rises. Fog is expected to form over mountainous areas, while scattered showers may develop later in the day, becoming heavier at times in southern regions. Thunderstorms and active winds are possible, and snow is expected at elevations above 1,600 meters.
Tuesday: Cloudy to partly cloudy conditions are forecast, with a noticeable drop in temperatures to below seasonal averages. Scattered rainfall is expected, at times heavy, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds, particularly during the morning. Snowfall is forecast from around 1,500 meters, possibly lower in northern and inland mountainous areas. Conditions are expected to improve gradually from the afternoon.
Wednesday: Clear and colder weather is expected, with active northerly winds and a further drop in temperatures. Authorities warned of possible ice formation on mountain roads during the night and early morning.
Overall, a moderate weather system is expected to affect Lebanon from Monday afternoon through Tuesday, bringing cooler and unsettled conditions, especially over mountainous and southern regions.
Temperatures are forecast to range between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius along the coast, 4 to 10 degrees in mountainous areas, and 5 to 13 degrees inland. Winds will be mainly northwesterly to northerly, with moderate speeds, strengthening at times midweek. Sea conditions are expected to remain generally calm to slightly rough.
Authorities advised motorists to exercise caution on mountain roads due to fog and the risk of icy conditions, particularly overnight and in the early morning.
