Trump on an ‘Attack on Colombia’: “I Like It”
U.S. President Donald Trump indicated that the United States is now leading Venezuela, while also hinting at an intention to ‘attack Colombia’ as a possible next step.

Trump said that the United States is currently focusing on ‘fixing’ Venezuela rather than moving quickly toward holding elections, stressing that the electoral process ‘will take place at the appropriate time.’

He explained that Washington had been ‘ready for a second wave’ of operations in Venezuela and was ‘prepared to move,’ but added: ‘I don’t think we will need it.’ In striking remarks, Trump said: ‘We are the ones leading Venezuela.’

On the other hand, Trump made alarming statements, saying that ‘an operation against Colombia seems like a good idea to me.’

He also attacked Colombian President Gustavo Petro, saying that ‘Colombia is run by a sick man, and he will not remain in power for long,’ marking an unprecedented escalation in his rhetoric toward Bogotá.
