The Internal Security Forces’ General Directorate – Public Relations Division issued the following statement:
As part of ongoing efforts by the Internal Security Forces’ specialized units to combat crime and apprehend offenders, information was received by the Baabda Judicial Detachment of the Judicial Police Unit indicating that an individual had assaulted his wife and minor children and restrained his daughter to a tree for several hours.
Following immediate action, patrols identified the suspect’s residence and arrested him in the town of Chmisseh, Baabda District. The suspect was identified as R.B. (born in 1990, Syrian national).
During questioning, he admitted to assaulting his wife, son, and daughter, and to threatening them with a hunting rifle and a knife, which were seized from his home.
Legal action was taken against the detainee, who was referred to the competent judiciary in accordance with instructions.
