The Judicial Prosecutor General, Judge Jamal Al-Hajjar, issued an official statement today dismissing as false reports circulating on social media that former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora was investigated or questioned at his home in connection with the "Abou Omar" case.
In the statement, Judge Al-Hajjar said that the claims are fabricated and intended to disrupt the work of the judiciary and undermine its credibility. He stressed that the information being shared online has no basis in fact.
Judge Al-Hajjar also warned that those responsible for spreading the rumors could face legal consequences and would be subject to appropriate penalties.
