Speaking at a promotional summit for new government investment accounts designated for children, Minaj said she is Trump’s “number one fan,” stressing that the criticism he faces only strengthens her determination to support him. She added that smear campaigns against Trump will not succeed, saying he has “great strength” behind him and that “God protects him.” Minaj and Trump appeared during the event holding hands on stage for nearly 30 seconds.
It is worth noting that Minaj had not previously declared her support for Trump during past election campaigns, but she praised him last year for his stance in support of Christians in Nigeria. The artist also allocated large sums of money to the so-called “Trump Accounts” for the children of her fans, as the federal government grants every newborn $1,000 in these investment accounts.
