The Presidents of the United Arab Emirates and Russia held talks in Moscow aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin met at the Kremlin during an official visit to Russia. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, technology, space, and energy.

The two leaders also reviewed regional and international developments, including the situation in the Middle East, stressing the need to intensify efforts toward a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.

Sheikh Mohamed highlighted recent economic agreements between the UAE and Russia, including the Trade in Services and Investment Agreement signed in August and the Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and the Eurasian Economic Union signed in June.

The talks also addressed the Ukraine crisis, with Sheikh Mohamed thanking Russia for its cooperation in UAE-mediated prisoner exchanges between Russia and Ukraine. President Putin welcomed the UAE’s mediation efforts and its hosting of talks involving Russia, Ukraine, and the United States.

The meeting was attended by senior UAE and Russian officials. President Putin hosted a luncheon in honor of Sheikh Mohamed and his delegation.

An official reception ceremony was held at the Kremlin upon Sheikh Mohamed’s arrival. He later departed Moscow at the conclusion of his visit.
