Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reaffirmed Tehran’s determination to uphold its right to pursue its nuclear program, “even if it leads to war.”
“We insist on uranium enrichment because no party has the right to dictate what we should do,” he said, adding that Iran “does not accept dictates or domination from any side.” He stressed that Tehran remains ready to answer any questions and continues to emphasize diplomacy and negotiations.
Araghchi warned that “if we make concessions, they will assume that when they attack us, we will surrender.” While underscoring that Iran does not seek war, he said the country is prepared for it. He also stressed that “Iran will not allow any foreign interference,” asserting that “nuclear science and technology were not destroyed in the US and Israeli strikes,” and reiterating that Tehran is not seeking to acquire a nuclear weapon.
For his part, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian described the recent Iran-US talks as “a step forward.” He said the Iranian people have always responded to respect with respect, but “will not tolerate the language of threats or force.”
He added that dialogue remains Iran’s strategy for reaching a peaceful resolution, noting that the country’s position on the nuclear file is grounded in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
