A Confused February: Dust One Day, Rain the Next
The Forecasting Division at the Meteorological Service of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation predicts stable and relatively warm weather over Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean basin until Friday evening. The region will then be affected by a low-pressure system accompanied by cold air masses, heavy rain, snow in the mountains, thunderstorms, and strong winds, with conditions gradually stabilizing by Saturday evening.

Expected weather in Lebanon:

Thursday: Partly cloudy with medium and high clouds, fog over the mountains, and temperatures above seasonal averages. Winds will pick up, reaching around 60 km/h.

Friday: Partly to occasionally cloudy with high clouds and a further noticeable rise in temperatures above seasonal averages. Winds will carry light dust. Temperatures will drop rapidly from the afternoon, humidity will increase, clouds will thicken, and conditions will be favorable for initially muddy rain, which will intensify and be accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds reaching 75 km/h. Snowfall is expected above 1,900 meters.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with poor visibility due to dense fog. Temperatures will continue to drop to seasonal averages. Scattered heavy rain is expected, with thunderstorms and winds reaching 75 km/h. Waves may reach up to 3 meters. Snow will fall from 1,800 meters, with rain gradually easing overnight.

Sunday: Partly cloudy with a noticeable rise in temperatures, especially in the mountains and inland areas, and lower humidity levels.
