Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri received Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alaa Moussa, at Beit El Wasat, in the presence of Future Movement Vice President Bahia Hariri and advisers Ghattas Khoury and Hani Hammoud.
Moussa said he conveyed condolences on the 21st anniversary of Rafik Hariri’s assassination and described the talks as "very positive," noting a different and encouraging tone from Hariri regarding Lebanon’s future. He stressed that Hariri and the Future Movement remain key pillars of Lebanon’s political landscape, adding that Egypt views his political engagement as important.
Asked about Hariri’s potential return from political suspension, Moussa said he sensed a desire to re-engage, though the decision ultimately rests with Hariri, particularly in light of upcoming elections.
Hariri also met the ambassadors of Brazil, Canada and the Netherlands to discuss bilateral ties and developments, and later held talks with Democratic Party leader Talal Arslan on domestic and regional issues.
