Some websites circulated a report claiming that Prime Minister Nawaf Salam was forced out of Tripoli by citizens protesting the fuel price hikes, allegedly causing him to cut his visit short and head to Beirut.

In response, the “Fact Check Lebanon” team at the Ministry of Information contacted the National News Agency’s correspondent in Tripoli, who categorically denied the report, confirming that “the circulated information is false and that Prime Minister Salam is continuing his visit in Tripoli according to the scheduled program.”
