Lebanon’s Army Commander General Rodolphe Haykal inspected several army units in Beirut and Sidon, reviewing the security measures in place within their areas of responsibility.
The army commander addressed the soldiers, stressing "the necessity to maintain readiness to prevent any breach of security and to act firmly in the face of any attempt to undermine internal stability."
Major General Haykal said, "Despite the rumors and incitement campaigns aimed at downplaying the sacrifices and efforts of military personnel, the army will not hesitate to fulfill its national responsibilities."
The army chief added, "The soldiers should not be influenced by these rumors, but rather remain committed to their doctrine and to fulfilling their national duty."
