Russia announced on Friday that Kremlin envoy Kirill Dmitriev is currently visiting the United States for economic talks, emphasizing that "no discussions about the war in Ukraine will take place," according to Agence France-Presse.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters, including an AFP correspondent, that "Kirill Dmitriev is not conducting negotiations on a settlement of the Ukrainian issue," stressing that this "does not constitute a resumption of negotiations." He added that "Dmitriev heads the economic affairs group and continues his work within that framework."
