Head of the Free Patriotic Movement, MP Gebran Bassil, received the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Ambassador Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, in the presence of MP Nada Boustani.

Discussions during the meeting focused on the latest developments in Lebanon, particularly the significant escalation the country has faced since yesterday and its political and humanitarian repercussions.

Talks also addressed the rapidly evolving regional developments and their impact on the Lebanese scene.

Bassil emphasized the need to keep Lebanon neutral from regional conflicts, halt all attacks on its territory, and work diligently to consolidate stability.

He also highlighted the United Nation's important role in exerting pressure to stop the escalation to preserve Lebanon's sovereignty and security. 

Bassil called for a comprehensive approach that guarantees Lebanon's protection and prevents its further descent into the consequences of war.

For her part, Plasschaert outlined the UN's ongoing efforts in monitoring the Lebanese situation during this critical period, emphasizing the importance of maintaining stability and supporting Lebanon in addressing current challenges.
