The Forecasting Department at the Civil Aviation Directorate’s Meteorological Service expects Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean basin to be affected by warm air masses carrying layers of dust, leading to a noticeable rise in temperatures above seasonal averages.
These hot air masses will gradually retreat starting Friday afternoon. A low-pressure system will then affect the region, bringing temperatures back to seasonal norms and turning the weather unsettled, with muddy rain expected. This system will persist until Monday afternoon, after which conditions will stabilize again.
Weather in Lebanon:
Thursday: Partly cloudy to cloudy with high clouds and light dust layers. Temperatures will rise further, exceeding 30°C along the coast. Clouds will increase in the afternoon, with conditions becoming favorable for scattered muddy rain in inland areas, with a chance of isolated thunderstorms.
Friday: Partly cloudy to cloudy with dust layers and temperatures above seasonal averages. A rapid temperature drop begins in the afternoon, with rising humidity leading to fog formation over the highlands. Clouds will thicken, with scattered muddy rain becoming more likely, intensifying in the evening accompanied by lightning, thunder, and active winds, especially in southern areas.
Saturday: Partly cloudy to cloudy at times with fog over the highlands and a noticeable drop in temperatures. Winds will strengthen, reaching up to 70 km/h. Scattered rain is expected before noon, followed by wide clearings during the day, with rain returning at night.
Sunday: Partly cloudy to cloudy with fog over the highlands and a further drop in temperatures back to seasonal averages. Scattered rain is expected, with a chance of lightning, thunder, and active winds.
Surface winds: Northwesterly to northeasterly, 10–35 km/h, strengthening in the afternoon up to 55 km/h, especially in the south.
Visibility: Moderate, occasionally poor due to dust.
Relative humidity on the coast: 30–70%.
Sea state: Moderate waves.
Sunrise: 06:05 am - Sunset: 07:11 pm
