U.S. President Donald Trump posted Frank Sinatra’s song I Did It My Way amid anticipation over his remarks, after saying the fate of negotiations with Iran would become clear Saturday evening.
The song Trump shared begins with the line: “And now, the end is near.”
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office earlier today, Trump said Iran “has become somewhat cunning… it wanted to close the strait again,” later adding that the country “cannot blackmail us.”
Trump noted that the United States is still talking with Iran and that he would know by the end of the day whether the parties would move forward with a deal.
This comes at a critical time, as the truce is expected to expire in three days, and no date has been set for a new meeting between U.S. and Iranian negotiators.
