According to the Syrian Al Watan daily, the Syrian interior ministry has decided to extend the validity of passports belonging to Syrians living abroad.
It is to note that the head of the Syrian Opposition Coalition, Ahmad Moaz El Khatib, had demanded earlier to renew the passports of Syrian nationals in embassies abroad.
In a circular issued by the Interior Minister Mohammad Al Shaar on February 23rd, it has been authorized to renew passports and travel documents belonging to Syrian nationals living abroad for two to four years.
"Passports will now be renewed regardless of the reasons that had earlier prevented their renewal, and without obtaining the necessary authorizations," said the circular.
