An unidentified individual vandalized a statue of the Virgin Mary and a roadside shrine in the town of Al-Baramieh, in Sidon district, according to the National News Agency.

Following the incident, Baramieh Mayor Shawki Habib instructed authorities to swiftly identify the perpetrator and take legal action in accordance with Lebanese law.

Municipal police, after reviewing surveillance footage and gathering evidence, managed to identify the suspect and referred him to the relevant security and judicial authorities to face legal proceedings, NNA reported.
