The Free Syrian Army announced that it would halt its shelling against Lebanese territories in order to pave the way for a political initiative to be launched, threatening to wage an "open-ended war" once a political settlement comes unstuck.
The FSA voiced its deep regret and condemnation of "the intrusions and violations carried out by Hezbollah fighters against the Syrian territories, namely the western villages of Al Qusair".
The statement released by the FSA declares the launch of a political initiative carried out by prominent Lebanese figures and Syrian opposition figureheads, stating that Hezbollah is awaited to abide by the truce as of tomorrow.
