Unforeseen events-difficult to control might erupt, Russian Foreign minister Sergei Lavrov informed Syrian counterpart Walid Muallem during a phone call today.
Lavrov allayed his counterpart's worries to the effect that the Kremlin would do all it could to bolster Assad's regime and that he could count on the Russians in this.
Muallem for his part, perceived what he termed as "a clear connection between the Israelis and terrorists backed by the United States and Europe". The US-EU-backed terrorists are bent on blocking any political settlement to the conflict in order to weaken Syria's regional standing, Muallem concluded.
