Syndical Coordination Committee to resume protests

The Syndical Coordination Committee called for new protest movements in front of the Grand Serail and Finance Ministry on Thursday, in order to pressure the referral of the salaries and ranks scale to the parliamentary council to ratify.

The committee held earlier on Tuesday a meeting at the headquarters of Private School Teachers Syndicate, in order to discuss the outcome of its recent meeting with outgoing PM Najib Mikati.

In a statement issued following the meeting, the Syndicate said that “it refuses the policy of stalling and procrastination in referring the ranks and salaries system file to parliament.”

The SCC also denounced the “Finance Ministry’s intentional attempt to rig the system’s numbers.”
