Caretaker Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Adnan Mansour, confirmed in an interview to National News Agency (NNA) that news about the sacking of Lebanese working in Qatar is groundless.
Minister Mansour made clear that after holding the necessary contacts with the Lebanese mission in Qatar, it was learned that "Ben Laden" Company in Qatar [undergoing a project affiliated to the Qatari Interior Ministry] has dismissed 21 employees, including 15 Lebanese and 6 foreigners, after evaluating their work performance.
Mansour stressed that "there is no decision to deport any employee of the company and therefore any Lebanese."
Mansour said there is a large number of Lebanese working in Qatar and other Gulf states who are receiving all needed care, loving and concern from their Gulf brethrens.
"We should not necessarily interpret any time a person leaves a country as a matter due to political or confessional considerations," Mansour stressed.
