Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea to Al Liwaa: Hezbollah and the salafists are two sides of the same coin.

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea reiterated his rejection to Hezbollah’s participation in the upcoming cabinet, saying it would ruin what was left of the self-dissociation policy.

Noting that the March 14 forces were excluded from the previous government, Geagea wondered “where is the harm if Hezbollah doesn’t participate in the cabinet?”refuting claims saying that the government would lack the presence of Shiite representatives.

Commenting on Speaker Nabih Berri’s statement that the March 8 alliance has collapsed, Geagea hoped that this stance is true and not just a maneuver.

Moreover, he described Berri’s insistence on holding a parliamentary session with a puffed out agenda as “unconstitutional”, reiterating his support for extending Army Commander General Jean Qahwaji and former ISF chief Ashraf Rifi's tenure.

Asked about his stance from the Salafists and the radical Islamist movements, Geagea said that these movements do not differ from Hezbollah, deeming the two are “two sides of the same coin”.
