Mortar fire from inside war-torn Syria hit the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on Tuesday, an army spokesperson said.
"Several mortar rounds fired from Syria exploded in northern Golan without causing any damage or casualties," the spokesperson told AFP.

It was apparently stray fire from fighting between Syrian government forces and rebels and was not deliberately fired towards Israeli-occupied territory, she added.
