In Video: Syrian officer greets rebels as 'brothers'

Even dictatorial regimes occasionally have peace lovers among their ranks!

A Syrian army officer identified as Mustafa Shaddoud is seen negotiating affably with opposition gunmen even telling them "you are our people and our brothers," according to a video clip released on social networks.

The courageous officer then approached the rebels and can be seen, and heard, talking to them, smiling, and putting his counterparts at ease.

Shaddoud was later killed in fighting in battle in East Ghouta.

Meanwhile, General Assembly of the United Nations was discussing Human Rights report on Syria. The report held the responsibility of increasing number of crimes to both pro-Assad supporters and the rebels.

The Permanent Representative of Syria to the United Nations Bashar al-Jaafari was surprised by not classifying al-Nusra Front as a terrorist group, considering that the report is full of exaggeration.
