Al-Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc member, MP Jamal Jarrah, said on Thursday that the extension of President Michel Sleiman's term would become a must if civil peace was in danger.
"Logic says that the president should be elected on time," the lawmaker said in a radio interview, asking the political factions to abide by the Constitution.
Jarrah said that the Parliament should convene 10 days prior to elections, stressing that those don't show up would be violating the constitution.
Jarrah accused Hezbollah of impeding the Cabinet formation, urging both President Sleiman and Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam to speed up the formation in order to evade the state's institutions collapse.
