Political bomb ahoy

Just as the world behold La Hague’s Special Tribunal for Lebanon, former PM Saad Hariri emerges, a political bomb in his grasp. Allies as well as rivals sustained a shock as Hariri expressed his willingness to participate in a new coalition government with Hezbollah (as a political party), and expressed his optimism as to the formation of a new cabinet.

Hariri affirmed, in an interview with Reuters, that he had not presented any settlement as to participating in a government comprising Hezbollah and its allies, knowing that an accused is innocent until proven guilty.

“We are trying to rule the country without excluding any party since Lebanon is experiencing troubled times,” Former Premier said, noting the various red lines imposed by the country’s requirements and the need for stability.
