Foreign Affairs Minister Gibran Bassil remains in Brazil on his first official trip since he took office.The controversial visit stirred up a deluge of comments claiming that Bassil traveled only to attend World Cup games.

The said claims were based on the bad timing of the trip given that the shaky situation in Lebanon is not suitable for a political visit to meet with expats.

Bassil posted a photo of "Pele " on his Facebook page, captioned as a portrait dedicated to the Brazilian football legend by Lebanon's "Energy Minister".

Bassil, seemingly confused over his current position, has forgotten that his title has been changed to Foreign Affairs Minister for a while now. A section that encloses Bassil's activities as Energy Minister remains featured on his website to date.
