Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil noted to al-Akhbar daily that the government had clearly demanded the LAF spread control over the security situation in Arsal, during Crisis Management Cell meeting. Bassil pointed out that the Army has been given full political cover, which will lead to new developments in Arsal.

The cell is also said to have mulled refugee matters as establishing settlement camps was turned down in favor of various other alternatives that are being considered.
