Fugitive Cleric Ahmad Assir Is back

Fugitive cleric Ahmad Assir, who is wanted by several arrest warrants for engaging in clashes against the Army, returned to the forefront yesterday with new comments posted on hos Twitter feed. Assir commented on US President Barack Obama's strategy to strike Islamic State and on the conference attended by Secretary of State John Kerry to rally Arab support for said plan. 

 

Assir voiced rejection of the international coalition stemming from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

 

"This coalition established to strike the jihadists of Islamic State is a blatant blasphemy; profane is the one who approves or aids it," he tweeted.

 

"World War has been waged against the Islamic State; actually it is part of the same old war that has been constantly fought against Islam. So I advice every Muslim to watch his actions and words as I also call on all jihadists to review their mistakes and apt to a sincere repentance," he added.
