Vastlyknowledgeable sources told al-Safir newspaper that the Saudi grant was threatened by the looming void after Former President Michel Sleiman's term came to an end, noting that Iran takes credit for reviving the said aid after the Lebanese government rejected its free assistance and needed a quick replacement for it.

The sources noted that the essential thing is to finally cash out the grant and start arming the military institution, adding that the French weapons must also be delived as soon as possible.
