Social Media Users Slam Abu Faour's Blacklist

The Lebanese people seem to have suddenly forgotten about their daily ordeals, now focusing their attention on the food scandal revealed by Health Minister Wael Abu Faour two days ago. Social media websites have become congested with comments and photos devised by Lebanese Internet users who are best at turning tragic events into a source of humorous anecdotes.

Taking a panoramic view over the posted comments, you can easily notice that users who criticized Abu Faour’s revelations outnumber those who shored up his action; carping, sarcastic comments were posted.

Some even went the extra mile as they chose to fire back at the minister by posting photos of them eating at restaurants that were blacklisted for being in violation of food health standards.

After Former Minister Faysal Karameh had posted an image of him eating a kanafeh sandwich with Ashta from Tripoli’s Al-Hallab pastry shop, which was on Abu Faour’s list of shame, Actress Lorene Kodeih followed suit and dismissed the Health Minister’s warning about the same shop’s food safety standards.

Famous Singer Elissa posted on her Instagram page an image of a platter served at the Roadster Diner, hence showing solidarity with the restaurant whose Metn branch was claimed to be offering contaminated chicken breast.

Social media users crossed the minister’s bows, posting comments and photos along with a caption reading “in spite of Wael Abu Faour”.
