Moulder of Lebanon’s Cultural Identity Remembered

On this same date six years ago, a man who contributed to revolutionizing Lebanese music and spearheaded the Lebanese cultural renaissance passed away, leaving behind an unparalleled legacy and timeless repertoire.

As the country commemorates Mansour Rahbani, it was vital for MTV website to pay tribute to an unforgettable music legend whose offspring are striving to preserve what their father has entrusted them with.

Ghadi Rahbani says he has missed his father's affection, deploring the significant void that his absence has caused.

"His belongings still remind us of him…His clothes, music pieces…everything," Mansour's son told MTV website.

Ghadi noted that a mass will be held in his memory on Saturday, January 24, at noon at the Saint Michael Church in Antelias.

"Everyone is invited to attend the service."

Asked whether invitations were sent to politicians as well, Ghadi said that the family has decided not to "bother" any of the officials.

Ghadi pointed out that his father had kept many of his music pieces unreleased, adding that they might be possibly made public one day.
