Jumblat says will not get involved in waste management deals

Progressive Socialist Party Chief MP Walid Jumblat noted that he has pulled out of any investments within the waste management realm, adding that plans had been laid out for his two sons to partner with Riad al-Assaad.

“The plans were cancelled when I foresaw the political damage it could have on me,” he told al-Safir newspaper published Wednesday, adding that he has no current links with any private companies.

As for the resident of Ain Dara’s objection over waste being buried in excavated lands, Jumblat noted that the area is “dead due to the quarries and this objection is out of place.”
