Activists have been sharing a video of an almost 12-year-old boy called Mario being filmed by his friends taunting him to throw the kitten in his hands off the roof.

Although aware of the horrible things he’s about to do,  Mario's sound judgment falters under peer pressure with the promise of a 10 dollar reward.

According to the video, one of his friends says: “Mario will throw the cat and get ten dollars.”

“16,000 LBP,” was Mario’s snap reply.

Mario was hesitant at first but his friends’ cheers overwhelmed him. He closed his eyes, perhaps re-examining the choice his about to make, before he tossed her off the ledge.

Of course Mario is to blame, but the real culprits here are the grownups who took advantage of his innocence and lured him into executing his awful crime.

And to add insult to injury, they documented the entire process on their smartphones and published it online.

It is worth noting that the date the video was filmed or uploaded is still unclear, but it seems to have been taken recently given the tide of shares it has received on social media.
