This is the adorable moment a one-year-old boy born with half a skull said 'hello' to his parents and fans.

Jaxon Buell, who has been nicknamed Jaxon Strong, was given just days to live at birth due to a rare neural-tube condition.

He surpassed expectations and celebrated his first birthday in August, with thousands of people from across the globe inundating his parents Brittany and Brandon, from Orlando, Florida, with messages of support.

His parents wrote alongside the video, which has already received more than 23,000 'likes': 'Jaxon says "Hello" to Germany to the kids that drew him pictures!

'You can't see our shocked and happy expressions behind the camera, but we are super proud parents to be able to witness Jaxon speaking yet again!

'Such a brilliant little man! ‪#‎JaxonStrong.' ‬

The video emerged after Mr and Mrs Buell revealed they received criticism for not aborting Jaxon.

Some social media users have claimed the couple were ‘selfish’ in their decision as he may suffer pain.

At the end of September, Mr Buell hit back at trolls and said the decision to keep their son was 'our choice, and only our choice'.

He revealed doctors gave them the option to abort at 23 weeks but added: 'No doctor could tell us exactly what was wrong or what to expect.'

A GoFundMe page set up in Jaxon's honour has already raised more than $120,500 (£79,100).

It has since attracted attention from a number of celebrities including Ashton Kutcher.
