Maronite Patriarch, Beshara Rahi, headed on Tuesday to Italy, to partake in a conference in Venice on peace in Europe and the neighborhood, upon the invitation of the European Parliament.

 

Speaking to reporters before departure at Beirut airport, Rahi hoped that the ongoing contacts would finally end the presidential vacuum.

 

"After two and a half years, it is time to have a Lebanese president," he said.
