Fadlallah from Parliament: We are keen on government success
National News Agency
MP Hassan Fadlallah on Tuesday underlined Hezbollah's keenness on the new government's success, stressing that the first step must be the supervision of the ministers.

"We seek an efficient government and we are keen on its success," Fadlallah said during a Parliament session devoted to discussing the ministerial statement.

"This Parliament is similar to Lebanon; its key role is legislation and supervision. The first step must be the supervision of ministers and their abidance by the laws," he added.

"We will not sign any budget for any ministry whose minister does not attend the House committees' session," he stressed.

Moreover, Fadlallah called upon President Michel Aoun to use his powers to restart negotiation over the loan provided by the International Monetary Fund.

"We can't keep on borrowing in this way," he said.

Furthermore, Fadlallah wondered about the reasons to refuse the Iranian offer to provide electricity.

Also, he called for lifting bank secrecy off the new government's ministers.

"There are ministers who, in their private meetings, talk about money and deals that account for up to USD 400 million," he revealed.
