Assad's relatives banned from entering Switzerland

New procedures have raised over developments and communication related to the Syrian crisis, but this time Switzerland took the initiative.

Switzerland's Federal Tribunal Supreme Court confirmed that it banned Mohamad and Hafez Makhlouf, uncle and cousin of Syrian President Bashar Assad respectively, from entering Switzerland in addition to freezing their assets as well.

These two aforementioned verdicts were published Tuesday.

Mohamad Makhlouf has attempted to transfer $10 million from his bank account in HSBC in Geneva branch to a project managed by his wife, before listing his name among people to-be-sanctioned list.

Hafez Makhlouf (41 years old) counts among the regime's hardliners, and is alleged to have been in charge of the brutal repression against demonstrators, according to Switzerland Supreme Court.

He is also "implicated in the repression against demonstrators."

Mohamad Makhlouf, the uncle, (80 years old) is also very close to the Syrian president Bashar al-Assad.
