Amchit, New Target of Massive Land Sales

A seafront property at the Michel Sleiman Cornice in Amchit is the new purchase target of a businessman close to Hezbollah named Ali Tajeddine.

Having bought the Delhamiyah land in Dbeibeh, the 114,000 square meter land in Amchit caught his attention next.  Owned by the Khalifah family and a Kuwaiti partner, the massive piece of land might  be sold for more than 80 million dollars.

It is worth noting that the land’s location at Amchit’s southern portal enfolds a strategic significance.

The purchase has not  been finalized yet but nothing can prevent the sale from being carried out, thus altering the area geographically.

A demographic distortion is also feared as Christian presence could be threatened by the establishment of residential compounds.

If the deal is clinched over the land which constitutes a gateway to the sea for the Shiite town of Kfarsala, the expansion will stretch from the shores of Chouf to those of Amchit.
