“Antioch Sings” is a documentary that encapsulates the history of Byzantine (Greek Orthodox) chant in Antioch, and the role of various schools in enriching the spiritual and musical heritage over the past two centuries. It is a documentary research project presenting information published for the first time, developed over years by Professor Joseph Yazbeck. It explores the most prominent chanters and musicians, and how they dedicated their lives to chanting for the living God. The Mount Lebanon Choir will perform the most beautiful pieces, taking audiences on a journey through history in a powerful and inspiring ecclesiastical setting. “Antioch Sings” is prepared by Joseph Yazbeck and Elie Ahouch, edited by Sabine Salameh, with cinematography by Hassib Melhem, and directed by George Dou.
