The Internal Security Forces’ Public Relations Division issued the following statement:
A woman filed a complaint with the Baabda Judicial Detachment of the Judicial Police against her husband, identified as H.M., a Lebanese national born in 1986, accusing him of domestic violence, threatening her and their children with a firearm, and teaching their minor son how to use hand grenades.
Following extensive investigations, officers from the Baabda Judicial Detachment located and arrested the suspect on August 11, 2026, in the Choueifat desert area.
The ISF said that when officers arrested him, a number of his relatives and local residents gathered at the scene and attempted to block the security vehicle, preventing officers from taking H.M. into custody. He was later found to have a criminal record involving multiple offenses.
According to MTV sources, a larger force from the Baabda Judicial Detachment returned to the area, arrested the man and towed away the vehicles used by residents to block the security vehicles.
The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
