Michel Aoun’s First Response to Prosecutor’s Submission on Port Blast

Former President Michel Aoun said in a post on X that he had filed a criminal complaint over what he described as the fabrication and dissemination of misleading information, defamation and the disclosure of confidential investigation material.
“Out of respect for the blood of the victims and to safeguard the truth and justice, I filed today a criminal complaint over the crimes of fabricating misleading information, defamation and breaching the confidentiality of the investigation,” Aoun wrote.
The complaint was filed following the publication of reports containing allegations about the contents of the legal opinion submitted by the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation in the case of the Beirut port explosion.
