Al-Dosari marks Saudi National Day in Beirut, reaffirms support for Lebanon

Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Dosari hosted a reception at his Yarzeh residence to mark the Kingdom’s National Day, attended by senior Lebanese officials, political leaders, diplomats, security chiefs and religious figures.
National Defense Minister Michel Menassa represented President Joseph Aoun, MP Fadi Allameh represented Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, and Culture Minister Ghassan Salameh represented Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. The gathering also included former presidents and prime ministers, ministers, MPs, Army Commander General Rodolph Haykal, Internal Security Forces Director General, Major General Raed Abdullah, and a broad diplomatic presence.
Following the Lebanese and Saudi national anthems, Al-Dosari recalled the unification of Saudi Arabia under King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud and said the Kingdom’s foreign policy has long been based on justice, equality, international peace and security, and non-interference in the internal affairs of other states.
He highlighted the transformation launched under Saudi Vision 2030, saying the initiative entered its third phase in 2026, focused on consolidating gains and accelerating implementation after years of reforms in quality of life, economic development, government efficiency and investment.
Turning to Lebanon, Al-Dosari described Saudi-Lebanese relations as historic and fraternal, recalling the Kingdom’s early recognition of Lebanon’s independence and its diplomatic role during the civil war, culminating in the 1989 Taif Agreement.
He reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s support for Lebanon in restoring sovereignty over its territory and national resources, and said the recent lifting of the suspension on Lebanese exports to the Kingdom reflected Riyadh’s recognition of what he described as positive efforts by Lebanon’s leadership and government.
Al-Dosari concluded by thanking embassy staff and guests and extending his wishes for the well-being of both Saudi Arabia and Lebanon.
