Telecommunications Minister Charles El Hajj, responding to an MTV question about the poor quality of telecommunications services, rejected claims that the sector is deteriorating, saying the ministry had inherited a network that was “80% dilapidated.”
El Hajj said the war had set the sector back by six months, while increased demand had placed additional pressure on the network.
“We are not satisfied with the current situation, but I promise an improvement of more than 50% and a major upgrade to the network before the end of the year,” he said.
