Explosives and TNT Smuggled From Syria Into Lebanon

The Lebanese Army Command issued the following statement:
“On October 1, 2026, and as part of surveillance and monitoring operations along the northern and eastern borders, an Army unit seized approximately 245 kilograms of highly explosive TNT, four explosive devices, eight detonators, as well as electrical wires used for detonators, while the materials were being smuggled from Syrian territory into Lebanon.
The smugglers fled toward Syrian territory as soon as an Army patrol arrived at the scene.
The seized materials were handed over to the relevant authorities, and efforts and coordination are underway to arrest those involved.”
