Lebanese Singer Makes First Appearance following Dazzling Performance

At her first appearance at the blind auditions of the French version of The Voice, prominent Lebanese singer Hiba Tawaji made an outstanding debut as the show’s four judges granted her a well-deserved standing ovation.   

Tawaji astonished the audience with a mesmerizing performance of Michel Legrand’s “Les moulins de mon cœur” in both French and Arabic.

All four judges praised Tawaji’s vocal skills as Mika, the Lebanese-born pop star, rushed to introduce her to his fellow judges.

“I’m blushing because you are a great singer,” Mika said, adding that he had been closely watching her singing career progress.

Zazie hailed the Lebanese contestant’s style and technique, comparing her to Maria Callas, one of the most renowned and influential opera singers of the 20th century.

Being enticed by each of the judges to join their teams, Tawaji eventually decided to stick close to home and chose Mika as her mentor.

“The Voice show has provided an opportunity for me to fulfill the dream of becoming famous worldwide,” Tawaji said during a guest appearance on MTV news bulletin.

Support for the singer surfaced on Twitter, as followers showered her with praise.
