Why Charbel Khalil intentionally insulted religious figures three times?
The first two times he stepped back and apologized. But the third time he revenged and mocked spiritual references.
In 2006, Hizbullah followers went furious and rallied in streets and expressed their anger over spoofing the leader Hassan Nasrallah during Khalil’s comedy show.
Only few minutes passed and Khalil rushed to broadcast his apology.
Few months ago, Khalil decided to tackle salafist cleric Sheikh Ahmad Al-Assir, spoofing the latter’s famous visit to Faraya, but the episode was never aired after that Khalil received warnings from Al-Assir side.
In the third time, Khalil was eager to insult a spiritual national head, which is former Patriarch Cardinal Mar Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir.
He welcomed him Sfeir in indecent scene, which does not honor anyone but Khalil.
He did not only mock the Patriarch but also insulted the rank of burial of Jesus and made a silly comparison between Roman soldiers and Syrian workers.
Does Khalil remember the scene he made "for not letting the martyr die"? Does he?
Or he apologized? Or the martyr is really dead?
